Abstract: The Surface acidities of HZSM-5 modified MgO, CaO, BaO were studied by means of TPD, IR, and the activity and the selectivity of alkylation benzene with ethanol to ethylbenzene were investigated. The results indicate that NH3 desorption amount, 1550 cm-1 (B-acid) on the IRspectra, activity and selectivity of alkylation decrease with increasing the content of oxide. Active sites of alkylation was discussed in this work.
