Abstract: Ageneral method for the synthesis of isopropylidene-5-alkyl-5-phenylemalonates via the reaction of phenyl (phenylethynyl)iodonium tosylate with isopropylidene 5-alkyl malonates in the presence of NaH/THF(or t-BuONa/t-BuOH, K₂CO₃/TEBA/CHCl₃,K₂CO₃/18-Crown-6/THF) is reported in this paper.
