Abstract: In this paper, the coordination reaction between the substituted heteropolyanionswith Keggin structure{[XM11O(39)Z]n-, X=Si, P;M=Mo, W;Z=Co(2+), Ni(2+)}, and Dawson structure{[P2W17O61Co]8-} and the small inorganic molecules nitrogen oxide in a nonpolar solvent is studied by means of the phase-transfer chemistry of heteropolyanions, electronic absorption spectra and electron spin resonance (ESR).The experimental results show that, except the heteropolyanions for [PMo11O(39)Co]5-, the others can form coordination compounds with nitrogen oxide.
