    Synthesis and Characterization of N7,N1 Cross-linkage Model Compound of Platinum and Guanosine

    The title Pt-Guo compound was synthesized and isolated by the reaction between cis-CPt(NH3)2 (H2O)2]·(NO3)2 and guanosinc of mol ratio 1:1 in a neutral aqueous solution followed by careful purification with partial crystalization and rccrystallization from water at 0℃. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weight determination, DTA, and 13C NMRspeclros-copy and its formula was found to be C{Pt(NH3)2}8(GuoH-1 )7(OH)2]·(NO3)7 · 8H2O.The isolation of the compound provides direct evidence for the intrastrand cross-linkage between Cisplatin and DNAthrough N7, N1 atoms of two adjacent guanines.

    In this paper, the metathetical reaction involving rare earth carbonates and propenoic acid has been successful in the preparation of Ln(C3H3O2)3·H2O(Ln = La, Ce,……Yb and Y). With the composition determined by chemicalanalysis, the experimental data obtained from a number of modern physical and spectroscopic studies of IR, UV, and 1HNMRprovided powerful evidence for the synthesis of new complexes. Their properties and structure have been discussed as well.

    The complexes of CoCl2·6H2O, Co(NCS)2·2-3H2O, Co(NO3)2·6H2O Co(ClO4)·4-5H2Owith 'O4N2' macrocyclic ligand have been prepared in solid state and characterized by elemental analyses, IR. DTA-TG, electrical conductance, visible and near infrared solid reflectance spectrum as well as magnetic moments.     The catalytic activity of several water-soluble metallo-porphyrin complexes, M(Ⅱ)[p-N(CH3)3]TPPI (M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn; [p-N(CH3)3]TPPI = tetrakis (4-trimethylammoniophenyl) porphyrin iodide), for the electroreduction of CO2 has been studied by means of controlled-potential electrolysis in aqueous solutions. It was found that Co( Ⅱ )[p-N(CH3)3]TPPIis active but other metalloporphyrins show no activity. In the presence of Co( Ⅱ )[p-N(CH3)3]TPPl the main product of CO2 reduction was CO, but small amounts of HCOOHwere obtained. The effects of electrolytes, catalyst concentrations, electrode materials and potentials on the reduction of CO2 were investigated.

    Up to now, all oscillopolarographic litrations were carried out in electrolytic cells with one micro electrode and one macro electrode. Oscillopolarographic titrations on two similar micro indicator electrodes have been studied and it was found that many substances such as EDTAand its related compounds giving no incisions on one micro Pt-electrodc showed distinct incisions on two micro Pt-clectrodes. For example, in the presence of KC1, EDTAand its related compounds yielded distinct incisions which can be used to indicate end-points of many chclometric titrations. Th4+, In3+, Ga3+, Zn2+ , Ni2+, Co2+, Mn2+, Cd2+, and rare earths can be directly titrated with EDTA, DTPA, CYDTA, and HEDTA. Many new chelomctric titration procedures were developed.

    The chromatographic performance of columns comprised of segments with different liquid phase loading was evaluated with respect to column efficiency, resolution and solute retention time. The behavior of the gradient columns as a function of flow direction is studied.The columns possessing an exponentially gradient in k' have been treated theoretically from the viewpoint of solute retention time. The derived equations have been experimentally verified. The application of these columns has been studied.

    New, sensitive and simple methods for spcctrophotometric determination of platinum(Ⅳ) with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP) and for simultaneous determination of palladium(Ⅱ ) and platinum( Ⅳ ) based on the difference in temperature required for complex formation reactions between the two metal ions and 5-Br-PADAPhave been respectively developed. On adding nonionic surfactant polyethyleneglycol octylphenylester (OP), the colour of Pd(Ⅱ)-5-Br-PADAPcomplex in the aq. medium become very stable; the formation reaclion of Pl( Ⅳ )-5-Br-PADAPcomplex was greatly accelerated and the sensitivity of this colour rcaction enormously increased. 35 common foreign ions do not interfere with the simultaneous or respective determination of Pd( Ⅱ ) and Pt(Ⅳ). The coefficients of variation are 0.14-3.6% (n=5). Good recoveries (97-109%) of palladium( Ⅱ ) and platinum(Ⅳ) in the mixtures were obtained without any separation or masking.

    According to fundamentals of hydrokinetics and specific conditions of aspiration process, this paper describes the following Poiseuille equation for AAS: QL=π·R4(Pn-ρgh-Pσ)/8ηL The effects of negative pressure at the spray nozzel (Pn), relative height of solution surface (h), capillary length(L), solution viscosity(η) and additive pressure caused by solution surface tension (Pσ) on aspiration rate (Qi) were quantitatively and experimentally examined. The experimental results are in agreement with theoretical analysis, ' The agreement indicates that the Poiseuille Equation for AASis reasonable.

    Potassium persulfatc was used as photo-oxidant in this experiment.Organic nitrogen compounds in aqueous solution can be quantitatively decomposed within 25 minutes by two steps of (acidic and alkaline) UVirradiation. Results show that the quantitative recovery of the nitrogen compounds with C-N, O-Nand N-Sbonds can be obtained, while the nitrogen compounds with N-Nand N=Nbonds form gaseous nitrogen during the photolysis.Under the condition of pHover 9.4, nitrates are reduced to nitrites under UVirradiation. The total nitrogen content can be determined in the form of nitrite directly after photolysis. The cadmium column commonly used lor the nitrate reduction is therefore saved.

    In this paper the synthesis of the N- ( α, β-dialkyl-4-chlorocinnamyl)-src-butylaminc derivatives was reported. The products of Rcformatsky reactions of p-chlorophenyl-alkyl ketones with ethyl α-bromopropylacetate or ethyl α-bromobutyl-acetate were dehydrated in the preserco of iodine. In most cases, the derivatives of β,γ-unsaturated acids were only. With potassium tcrtiarybutylalcohol as catalyst and DMSOas solvent, they can rearrange to N- (α ,β-dialkyl-4-chlorocinnamyl)-sec-butylamine derivatives.

    In butyl aldehyde solvent the activation prcccss of catalyst precusor Rh(acac)(CO)(Pph3) under diffrent conditions and the transformation of various complexhave been studied. The active specks HRh(CO2)(Fph3)2 can be detected under reaction conditions, and its partial disproporlionation to HRh(CO2)3(Pph3) and HRh-(CO)(Pph3)3 has been discovered. The results show that the dimer [Rh (CO)2-(Pph3)2]2 in the system may fall into two species Rh3(CO)4(Pph3)4 and (Pph3)3-(CO)Rh(CO)2Rh(CO)(Pph3)3 the latter is formed in higher COpressure.

    Using potential sweep and potential time sequence techniques, we have studied the promotion of UPDof lead for the clcctrocatalytic oxidation of formic acid on platinum in HClO4 aqueous solution. The results showed that the first oxidation peak in anodic direction and oxidation peak in cathodic direction in the cyclic vol-tammogram are due to the oxidation of the same intermediate which is adsorbed weekly and the second and the third anodic peaks in anodic direction are due to the oxidation of the two different intermediates which are adsorbed strongly. Furthermore, all these intermediates are the linear adsorption on platinum surface and they are probably single bonded species, HCOOab,, and multiple bonded species, COab and COHab, respectively. Thus, the function of UPDof lead for the oxidation of formic acid is neither the third-body effect nor the decrease of hydrogen adsorption thus preventing the formation of poisoning species.The role of UPDof lead should be an electronic effect, that is, it acts by modifying adsorption property of platinum in such a way that the oxidation of intermediate HCOOab becomes easier.

    In the determinnation of force constants from frequencies and factorization of Gmatrix, an ordering relationship of Amatrix (may be n dimensional) relative to Lmatrix is found according to the ordering of symmetry coordinates. With the help of inverse unitary transformation, a general method to calculate FR from constants FR is established. The additivity of FR depending on the symmetry block is determined to be true. All the force constants in non-planar and planar of urea, thiourca and sclenourca molecule were calculated by general valence force field. The calculated values of frequencies were compared with other data given in the literature. It was shown that the present calculation gives good agreement with the experimental results.

    The catalytic activity and the catalytic selectivity for p-xylenc in the o-xylene isomerization reaction at different temperatures over HZSM-11 with different SiO2/Al2O3 ratios were measured by means of the pulse technique. The results show that the catalytic activity changes a little with the increase of the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio.TPDchromatograms of ammonia adsorbed on HZSM-11 were obtained. The results show that the weak acid sites of HZSM-11 decrease with increasing the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of HZSM-11 but that the strong acid sites do not change obviously, Jn addition, we also obtained the distribution of acidic strength, and the lowest acidic strength at which the o-xylene isomerization reaction takes placc.

    Aprecision rotating-bomb calorimeter was calibrated in this laboratory. The energy equivalent of the calorimeter was calibrated by benzoic acid of purity 99.999 mol percent, which was determined in the laboratory of the Institute of Measurement Science of China. The precision of the results of the calibration experiments was expressed in s.d.m. equal to 0.13%.Using this calorimeter, the heat of combustion -△Eco of p-Chlorobenzoic acid was determined to be 3070,8 ±11 KJ/mol.

    In this paper the Margules two parameters equation were used to correlate the nonidcal properties of surface phase, and a method was suggested to calculate the surface tensions and the surface excess mole fractions of the binary surfactants aqueous solutions. It was found that the calculated values of surface tensions were in good agreement with the literature values and their average errors were smaller than 0.5mN/m for three systems calculated.

    Flory considered that the discrepancy between classical gelation theory and real reaction system was mainly ascribed to the intramolecular reaction. This paper used the basic principles of the probability and analysed the growing-disappearing conditions of the groups in the even generations against a certain group when three different reaction systems containing two dynamic parameters reached some degree of reaction. Furthermore, we obtained the intramolecular reaction equations in the form of analysis by means of introducing probability factor of cyclization bond. Making use of the equations obtained from this paper to deal with the critical condition of gelation, we found that the theoritical values agree with the experimental ones.

    Based on the previous paper ( Ⅰ ), this article concentrated on the various factors which affected pseudo-gel formation. It was observed that the formation of pseudo-gel is closely related to polymer concentration, molecular weight, terminating agents, polymer chain and gegenion (contrary ion). The theoretical basis of these relationships were suggested.
