Abstract: The membrane of poly(vinylimidazole-co-fluoroalkyl methacrylate)(FIm) complexed with meso-α,α,α,α-tetrakis(o-pivalamidophenyl)-porphyrinatocobalt(Ⅱ)(CoP) was prepared by complexing the imidazole residue of the copolymer on the fifth coordination site of CoP. Solvents had some effect on keeping CoP active during the preparation of the complexed membrane. The oxygen-binding properties and facilitated oxygen transport of the membrane were also studied. It was found that CoP fixed in the membrane had rapid and reversible oxygen-binding properties in response to the partial oxygen pressures. The oxygen-binding affinity of CoP fixed in the membrane was larger than that in the solution state. With the decrease of temperature, the oxygen-binding affinity of CoP increased. Oxygen permeation was selectively facilitated with CoP fixed in the membrane, and a high oxygen permeability [10-10 cm3(STP)·cm·cm-2·s-1·Pa-1] was observed in the FIm/CoP complexed membrane.
