Abstract:

Significant improvements in extraction techniques have been made since 1986 when microwaves were used as an energy resource for extraction. Not only have the extraction times been dramatically reduced, but also other benefits are brought such as efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly. In this paper, some developments in microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) are presented.
