Abstract: Three-step reactions,i.e.,chloromethylation,azidization and cycloaddition, were adopted to introduce C60 into the side group of polystyrene successfully, and each step reaction was discussed in detail. The products were proved to be extremely soluble in a variety of organic solvents such as CHCl3, THF, etc..This solubility behavior is simillar to polystyrene itself and totally unlike C60.

Key words: Chloromethylation, Azidization, Cycloaddition reaction, Polystyrene C60 derivatives, C60
