Abstract: The solid surface room temperature fluorescence (SS-RTF)for determination of five tetracyclines on filter paper and the simultaneous determination of chlortetracycline(CTC) and tetracycline (TC) or CTC and oxytetracycline were described.Various factors of effect on RTFintensities of tetracyclines, such as pH condition, drying temperature and time of sample etc.were studied. The linear dynamic ranges, limit of detections and RSD were:2.1~205.0ng,1.3ng and 3.1 % for CTC;5.9~496.4ng,1.8ng and 2.6% for OTC;3.8~481.0 ng,3.6 ng and 2.8 % for TC;3.7~462.6ng,2.7 ng and 4.1 % for doxycycline (DOTC); 5.8~193.0ng,5.2 ng and 3.4% for methacycline (MTC), respectively. The recoveries of them in urine are from 95 % to 105%.

Key words: Solid surface room temperature flourescence, Alkaline degradation, Tetracyclines
