Abstract: The rheological behavior of mechanochemically degraded poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) was studied through Brabender plasticorder and capillary rheometer. The experimental results show that the degraded PVChas much shorter plasticizing time, high plasticizing rate and lower melt viscosity and glass transition temperature as compared with undegraded PVC. The results provide a theoretical base for using the low molecular weight PVCprepared by mechanochemical method as plasticizer for high molecular weight PVC.
