Abstract: In this paper, it was found that the transition-metal substituted heteropolymolybdates,{[(n-C4H9)4N]5PMo11(Zn+L)}(Z=Mn, Fe, Cu; L=unknown), were remarkably effective catalysts for the selective oxidation of cyclohexene with molecular oxygen under mild coriditions.Based on this, the results obtained were compared with the results for the same reaction catalyzed by related substituted heteropolytungstates and metalloporphyrins. It was found that although Mo6+ and W6+ in monosubstituted polyoxometalates could participate in the reaction, the main active center in them, is substituting transition metal.
