On the Magnetic Properties of Compounds Y_1-xPr_xCo₅ and Y_1-xSm_xCo₅

Abstract

Abstract: The magnetization M(H), the spontaneous magnetization M(T), and the cone angle θ_c (T) between the easy direction of magnetization and the c axis of rare earth compounds Y_1-xPr_xCo₅ and Y_1-xSm_xCo₅ are studied by means of the improved Hamiltonian.The calculated results are in agreement with the experimental M(H),M(T) and θ_c(T), and the calculated result of second order crystal field parameter A₂⁰ for the compounds Y_1-xPr_xCo₅ is improved.
