Abstract: In order to develop the new polymeric adsorbents for gypenosides,a highly crosslinked polystyrene-type resin S-008(Ⅰ)was chloromethylated and then aminated with the mixed amines of dimethylamine/trimethylamine or diethanolamine/trimethylamine to afford ten amino resins(Ⅱ-Ⅺ)with low exchange capacities.Their chemical and physical structures were characterized and their adsorption properties were also determined. The results show that some of the resins possess high capacities and good selectivities in the adsorption of gypenosides from an aqueous extract of Gynostemma pentaphyllum(Thunb.)Makino.
