Simultaneous Determination of Five Synthetic Food Colorants in Their Mixed Systems by On-line Kalman Filtering Spectrophotometry

Abstract: Mixed samples containing amaranth,new coccine,tartrazine,sunset-yellow and brilliant blue were analyzed with an on-line Kalman filtering system composed of a Varian DMS 200 UV/VIS spectrophotometer,an IBM PC/AT micro-computer and the relevant supporting software.The simultaneous determination of five individual components was successfully completed without prior separation and with a good accuracy and high speed.
