Abstract: Pyrochlore oxides (Pb2Ru2-x-ySbxPby)O7-z, 0≤x≤1, 0≤y≤1, 0≤z≤0. 5) are a new kind of bifunctional oxygen electrode catalysts. These oxides possess good electrocatalytic properties for both reduction and generation of oxygen in alkaline electrolyte at room temperature. The number of electrons involved in oxygen reduction process were found to be about 3. 55. Tafel slop involved in oxygen generation is 28 mV.
