Abstract: An approximate expression for guasi-steady-state reversible wave at the microdisk electrode is derived in the following form. i = 4nFDRT0CR*∫(P)θ/(1+θ), where i is the current, DRthe diffusion coefficient, T0the radius of the electrode, CR* the bulk concentration, P=(nFT02v/PTDR)1/2 and θ=exp[nF(E-E0)/RT], the equation holds for P<1. In order to examine the validity of the equation, experimental studies with Fe(CN)64-ions in 0. 5 mol/L KCl solution were carried out at the platinum disk (r0=29. 9 μm) electrode. The experimental voltammograms are in good agreement with the theoretical ones.
