Abstract: By the study of temperature programmed reduction (TPR) for some copper oxides, it is shown that when the gasses used as inert carrier are different, there are some differences in kinetic character of the reduction reaction although other conditions are the same. In this paper, the TPRcurves of some copper oxides, obtained by using of N2 and He respectively, have been analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Combining the mechanism of the reduction and statisitical thermodynamics with the results metioned above, it is supposed that the main reason of this phenomenon is that the molecular diameter of different inert carrier gasses are different.
