Abstract: The novel chloropropylpolysiloxanes were synthesized and used for gas chromatographic stationary phase. This new, moderately polar stationary phases exhibit higher-thermal stability (300~325℃) and can be used to separate non-polar and moderately polar compounds——n-alkanes, alkyl-benzenes, halogenated alkanes, esters and ketones. The McReynolds constants of these stationary phases are apparently higher than that of QV-17 and very similar to that of QF-1. The thermal stability and separation power of the alternating condensation polymers are better than that of the random copolymers. The stationary phase with 50% phenyl content could be crosslinked by 8% dicumyl peroxide. The vinyl group attached to the main chain may facilitate the crosslinking.
