Synthesis of 3-Carbethoxy-2-Methyl Quinoline Derivatives

Abstract

Abstract: Compounds (2)-(4) were synthesized through condensation of 3-carbethoxy-2-methyl quinoline with ester and cyanides, respectively.Compound (5) was obtained from direct hydrolysis of (1) in the presence of alkalis.Compounds (10)--(13) were produced by cyanoethylation, condensation, acetylation and methylation of the compound (9),respectively.The structure of these ten com pounds were confirmed via elemental analysis, IRand 1H NMR.
