Abstract: Anew triterpene C32H54O, m.p.86-87℃, was isolated from the petroleum ether extract of the roots of E.Soongarica Boiss by using silica gel column chromatography.Its structure was determined as 26,26-dimethyl-25-ene cycloartanol by means of IR, MS, 13C NMRspectrometry and the DEPTtechnique.
