Abstract: The reactions of a new tailed porphrinmangaanese complex, meso-mono-[o- (4-diethy-lamino)butyramidophenyl]triphenylporphyrin manganese (Ⅲ) chloride, PMn (Ⅲ)Cl, with organic bases were studied and the equilibrium constants of the axial addition reactions for these bases to PMn(Ⅲ)Cl in benzene were measured by spectral technique.Experimental results demonstrated that the reaction of this PMn(Ⅲ)l with aliphatic amines is a redox reaction, with pyridine is an incomplete redox reaction, and with imidazole is an axial addition reaction, respectively. The factors affected these reactions were also studied.
