Replacement-Diffusion Method for Mg2Ni0.75Cu0.25-Mg1.76 and Related Hydrogenation

Abstract: Replacement-diffusion method is reported to prepare Mg2Ni0.75Cu0.25Mg1.76 alloy. Surfaces of the alloy particles have been investigated- by AES. It has been found that Ni and Cu are greatly enriched on their surfaces. The under layer of the particles are Mg.The study of the hydrogen adsorption and desorption process for the alloy was carried out. The catalytic activity of Mg2Ni0.75Cu0.25 in the hydro-genation of Mg was observede.Amodel was suggested to describe the hydrogenation-dehydrogenation of Mg2Ni0.75Cu0.25-XMg system.
