Studies on the Syntheses and Properties of Some Organic Titana-fluorenes

Abstract

Abstract: Nine new organic titana-fluorenes were synthesized by the reaction of 2,2′-dilithio-biphenyl (Prepared by lithiation of 2,2′-dibromobiphenyl with n-butyllithium) with dichlorodicyclopentadienyl titanium, dichlorodi (methyl-cyclopendienyl) titanium or dichlorodiindenyl titanium. They were separated by chromatography on silica. Their structures have been characterized by elemental analyses, IRspectra, 1HNMRand UVspectra. The reactions of 5,5-dicyclopenta-dienyl titana-fluorene with electrophilic reagents, such as HCl, HBr, SOCl₂,I₂ and (PhCOO)₂, were studied.
