Abstract: In this paper, the influence of copper and zinc chlorides and their nitrates on the background in the furnace atomic absorption spcctroseopy are discussed. The characteristics of the time and wavelength of the background were studied. The results showed the wavelength character of the background of copper and zinc chlorides is more obviouse than their nitrates, the time distribution of She nitrate background is more extensive. Under the same conditions, the background of copper and zinc chlorides is much higher than their nitrates.
