Abstract: The solvent effects of 1,4-bis(5'-(2'-phenyl oxazolyl)) benzene and its 2’-(4"-t-butyl phenyl) derivative in nineteen solvents were studied by using UVand FLspectra. The results indicated that the action of the solvents on the ground states and the excited states of the two compounds are almost the same. The dipole moment of the excited states of the compounds was discussed.
