Abstract: This paper discribes the synthesis of amide-type bisbenzocrown ethers bearing two carboxymethyl groups on the briged chain. That is, two N, N'-bis(4'-aceta-midobenzocrown ethers) ethylenediamine-N,N'-diacetic acid were obtained by the reaction of EDTAdianhycride with 4'-aminobenzo-12-crown-4 or 4'-aminobenzo-15-crown-5.
