Abstract: The limitation of application of Kishner-Wolff reaction using phase transfer catalyst was studied. Eight aromatic carbonyl compounds i. e., benzophenone, fluo-renone,acetophenone, benzaldehyde, p-amino-benzaldehyde, p-methoxybenzaldehyde, o-chlorobenzaldehyde, p -nitrobenzaldehyde were investigated.
