Abstract: A new compound with high thermal stability is obtained from the reaction between (C6H5COCHCOC6H5)2Eu·OCOCH3 and C5H5Na. It is sensitive neither to O2 nor to H2O.The results of elemental analysis, molecular weight determination, UV and IR spectra of the product are given. The molecular structure of the product is suggested to be (C6H5COCHCOC5H5)2Eu-(η'C5H5).
