Abstract: Di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfoxide (DEHSO), an extractant easily dissolved in liquid paraffin, was synthesized in this paper.Di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfoxide (DEHSO) dissolved in dodecylbenzene was used as stationary phase and the RRf graphs of more than 40 metallic ions tested in DEHSO-HCl system and in DEHSO-HNO3 system by reversed paper chromatography were reported.DEHSOhas been successfully used by reversed paper chromatogra phy to separate a lot of metallic ions in mixtures, such as Ru-Os, Rh-Ir,Pd-Pt and some other metal couples.
