Abstract: In this paper, the miscibility in the blends composed of the model polymer(HM)of polyurethane hard segment and poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) has been investigat-ed with DSCphysical aging and FTIRpeak resolution and fitting techniques. It is found that the blend is miscible due to the specific interaction between the components and addition of SANweakens the hydrogen bonding between carbonyl and amine groups in HM. The experi-mental results provide a basis for understanding the specific interactions between the polyurethane and SANblends.
