Abstract: Cabbage-like polydimethysiliconalkly(PDMS) films were prepared via a laser cutting method. The as-prepared special “micro-submicro-nano structures” PDMS films have a very low adhesive force to water. The force is merely about 6.5 μN, and appears at the time just before the water droplet leaves the surface. The super-low adhesive force of rough PDMS surface results from the distinct decrease of the real contact area between the surface and water drop. The sliding feature is strongly affected by microstructure of surface. That rough structure induced on the surface of PDMS is due to the thermo-reaction of laser with transparent elastomer. This information is useful for the designing of bio-mimetic hydrophobic surface structure for various applications. These surfaces may provide very effective water-repellent and anti-adhesive properties against particular contamination. Such properties can greatly extend its applications to many other areas such as lost less liquid transportation without loss, and micro-pump(creating pushing-force) needless micro-fluidic devices etc..
