Abstract: A new non-light chemical method was reported to prepare triangular silver nanoplates. In the presence of BRIJ35 molecules, nitrate silver was reduced by sodium borohydride and sodium citrate, resulting in triangular silver nanoplates with various sizes at different temperatures. Some other factors affecting the size and shape of silver nanoplates were studied such as the concentrations of sodium borohydride and BRIJ35, the kind of surfactants, and different pH values.

Key words: Silver nanoplates, Triangle, Chemical reduction, BRIJ35
