Abstract:

A series of ytterbium(Ⅲ) monoporphyrinate complexes(2a—2e), bearing different substituents on meso- or β- position, were synthesized and characterized via UV-Vis, 1H NMR, high-resolution mass spectra and elemental analysis. The photoluminescent properties of the complexes, especially in the near-infrared region, were studied in detail. Related quantum yield and fluorescence lifetime show that the energy is transferred to the excited state of ytterbium(Ⅲ) ion caused by excitation of the π→π* transitions of porphyrinate, which led to strong NIR emission. The light-emitting efficiency of the complexes with electron-donating substi-tuents on meso-position is better than that of complexes with electron-withdrawing substituents, while the complex with bromide on β-position possesses the poor ability of light-emitting.
