Abstract:

Surfactants are important additives in many chemical processes and products. A wide range of surfactants exists, including anionic, cationic, nonionic and zwitterionic. Benzalkonium chloride (BAC) is a widely used cationic surfactant in pharmaceutical and health-care products since it possesses antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
