Abstract: Anumber of new unsymmetric saturated urashiol crown ethers are synthesized by the method of phase transfer catalysis.The reaction takes place in the presence of sodium hydroxids solution containing an optimun quantity of about 0.4 molar of the a: imonium salt.The bis(chloroalkoxy)-dcrivatives, the intermediates needed in the synthesis, are prepared in good yields from catechol, resorcin, hydroquinone and saturated urachiol by the same method.The catalysts which gave good results are tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate, hexadeyltrimethylammonium hydrogen sulfate etc..
