Abstract: This article reports that the bis(β-acyl cnaminc) Ⅲ can be isolated readily and hydrogenatcd to a bis (Mannich base) Ⅳ which on elimination by heating or treatment with acid yields the bis (α,β-unsaturatcd kctonc) Ⅴ,further hydrogena-tion gives saturated biskctonc Ⅵ in good yields.
