Abstract: A novel tailed 5-(4-nicotinicoxylhexyloxy)phenyl-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin(H2NHPTPP) and its Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn complexes were synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, UV-Vis, IR, MS and 1H HMR spectroscopies. The electrochemical properties were studied via cyclic voltammetry. The results show that there are great differences in the infrared spectra, UV-Vis spectra, mass spectra and 1H NMR spectra between the ligand and the complexes. The cyclic voltammetry of NHPTPPMnCl and NHPTPPFeCl are different from the ligand and NHPTPPNi, NHPTPPCu and NHPTPPZn, which showed not only the redox of the porphyrin ring, but also the redox of the metal ion.
