Abstract: Sixteen new pyrethroids with the following general formula were synthesised,Y =3,4-dichloro,4-methoxy,4-methoxymethyl,3-phenoxy or 3,4-methylenedioxy. Only the compounds with Y=3-phenoxy or 3,4-methylenedioxy were found effective against armyworm with moderate activity.
