Abstract: In this research work,kinetic behaviour of polyacrylamide(PA)aqueous solution in the presence of Cr(Ⅲ) during the gelation process were investigated quantitatively.Experiments revealed that the gelation process of PAwith Cr(Ⅲ) might be divided into three stages:accelera-tive,steady state and final stages.The increase rate of viscosity of the system represents the formation rate of the gel net.And the apparent rate constants and apparent activation energy in the steady-state stage of gelation were measured.
