Abstract: Silver nanoparticles were synthesized via a “green chemistry method”, in which [Ag(NH3)2]+ was reduced by β-D-glucose in the presence of β-cyclodextrin(β-CD), and characterized by UV-Vis, HRTEM and FTIR. Enhanced room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) signal of fluorescein on the filter paper surface in the presence of silver nanoparticle was firstly observed. Furthermore, with the increment of Ag nanoparticles’ concentration, the RTP intensity of fluorescein was increased at first, and then decreased when the molar ratio of fluorescein to Ag nanoparticles reached 1∶2. The mechanism of the interaction between Ag nanoparticles and β-CD was proposed, and the enhancing effects of Ag nanoparticles on room temperature phosphorescence of fluorescein were discussed.
