Abstract: Escherichia coli was used as an experimental object, the associated action between selenomorpholine and sodium arsenite was studied by microcalorimetry. The experiment results showed that there was antagonistic or cooperative interaction between selenomorpholine and sodium arsenite, and whether antagonistic or cooperative interaction between selenium and arsenic depended on their relative concentrations. The mechanism of the associated action between selenomorpholine and sodium arsenite perhaps is due to the synthesis of the enzyme in the growth of the bacteria.

Key words: Microcalorimetry, Selenomorpholine, Sodium arsenite, Associated action, Escherichia coli
