Abstract: The delamination and intercalation of layered microporous aluminophosphates [Al3P4O16]•[CH3CH2NH3]3 and [Al2P3O10(OH)2][C6NH8] with aromatic amine were carried out and followed by XRD and SEM measurements. The basicity of amine plays an important role in this process besides the dielectric constant of the solution and the amount of amine added. A saturated benzylamine(pKa=9.34) intercalates of the aluminophosphate are obtained while no aniline(pKa=4.60) intercalates are formed under the similar conditions. The remarkable effect of basicity of the amine can be explained by a metathetical balanced reaction model. The influence of layer structure on the delamination and intercalation processes is discussed as well.
