Abstract: A dendrimer of PAMAM(1G)-FCD was synthesized. Its structure was characterized via IR, 1H NMR, MALDI-TOF-MS, etc. The fluorescent properties of PAMAM(1G)-FCD, as well as the influence of Sn2+ on this dendrimer, were also studied systematically. The results show that the fluorescence of this dendrimer can be significantly enhanced by Sn2+. The UV spectra detected a new absorption peak at 360 nm with the addition of Sn2+ into the solution of PAMAM(1G)-FCD, suggesting that chemical reaction occured in the Sn2+ and PAMAM(1G)-FCD system. This hybrid material of metal-dendrimer holds promise as a scarce material to emit blue fluorescence.
