Abstract: The kinetics of formation reaction of Cd(Ⅱ) with meso-tetra-meta-toluene-porphyrin [H2T(m-CH3)PP] in acetone has been studied by means of stopped-flow method. Theproper reaction mechanism was proposed. The effects of temperature on the reaction ratewere investigated. It was found that kobs was reduced with the increase of the ionic strength, that is, the negative kinetic salt effect was observed. According to Debye-Huckel theory andthe experimental results a good linear relationship between rate constant and ionic strengthwas obtained.
